- Santorini, docked out at sea, but captain brought boat around closer to shore later on (did’nt use anchor to keep in place, all done by propellors, found out later)
- Island, once volcano connecting all nearby islands,
- Originally Otterman Minoan civilization, very advanced, aqueducts etc, prior to eruption 1600 BC then wiped out Minoans . Atlantis city sink myth started.
- Electricity only in 1960s, as late as 1990s
- Tender from ship to port, bus up hill to Fira?
- Walked down hill from bus to quaint little town, which had a donkey and gorgeeous gallery and buildings with amazing views. Stark white buildings mostly.
- Coffee at street cafe, then walked halfway up to a Church to get a better view, but ran out of time to get back to the bus.
- Bus to ???? distillay ouzo, lady welcomed us and allowed us to walk around underneath distillery, then seated in large room with othe bus tour particpants and had brief taste of ouzos and cheeses (hard parmesan) and little toasts with tomato paste. Sam spilled ouzo all over Trav and broke glass. Played Greek music and lady host danced the Hooopa dance. Bought oouzo gifts for boys and self, in little bottles shaped like Santorini.
- Back to bus and to very hot drop off point in town (tour finished now) of ???? walked up hill to shopping area. Amazing ocean views.
- Quick look inside a very old church and then back out.
- Lunch at restaurant with fake boganvillia vines, on terrace overlooking gorgeeous view. Celebrity Ascent had moved into position below. Trav had clams in rissotto. Sam had empty arancii balls they had forgot to fill. Great view from toilet (see photo).
- Tan proved us all wrong when we found out signs in toilet meant excactly not to throw any paper down loo… yuk!!
- Bit of shopping before long line up for cable car down the mountain.
- At bottom, jumped on ferry which took us to the ship.
- Dinner outside on back deck with Mr Cricket.
- Gay guy (King ???) on piano in Theatre. 7:30pm. Joan Rivers story.
- Sam and Tan went to ABBA songs thing at Club. Nowhere to sit, so I left.
